Today starts a new FP journey...

Today is the day... I am off to meet with Jen, Linda and Liz in Colorado for our first ever Friendly Plastic adventure.
We will get to spend two days together in a Friendly Plastic Frenzy... I just can't wait. Then the Starving Artist Playground starts on Friday night, with two full days of play-shops on Saturday and Sunday. What a week this is going to be. Jen has been working so hard getting ready for all of us. She is the mastermind behind, putting all of this together, along with her good friend Susan.
It should be exciting, inspiring and just all out fabulous. Stay tuned for all of the action. It will be coming at you from all directions. We will each be sharing whats going on from our own perspective.

Well, I am off to get ready... I have a plane to catch.

Its Turtle Time once again...

Our little Tortoise family just increased. Six little babies emerged from their borrow the other day. Their shells measure only an inch from head to tail. They are so darling.

It was like an easter egg hunt, but much more difficult. As you can see they blend right in with the landscape.

They are all safe and sound in their own private playground, the turtle nursery. There they have plenty of food, water and several fun little shelters for them to take refuge in. It may seem silly... but we just love these guys. They are a joy to watch and care for.

Fracture & Fusion...

Getting ready for my Fracture & Fusion playshops was quite a job. Just look at this pile of Friendly plastic cut into perfect 1/4" strips. I wanted to make sure everyone would have enough time to really get the hang of the F&F, so I thought I would pre cut all the plastic into strips for them. It may take a week for my hands to recover. What was I thinking. I need to get a special die made, to make this process a little easier.

You can never have too many colored sheets to choose from, so I decided to lay out a few color coordinated strips in order to created a few F&F sheets to go along with the sheets my playmates will be creating.

Of course... once the all the strips were layed out I had to fuse them together. Can you tell I haven't taught in a really long time? Here I am practically making the projects for them. I have a hard time knowing when to stop. The truth is... I am really excited to teach again and I want everyone to be successful. So maybe I am doing a little too much. All the kits are make up and have been shipped off to Jen's house. I can't wait to see what the results will be and to share them you. I am sure there will be a lot of blogging going on, so be sure to check back here... and on the Friendly Plastic blog.
